Neodymium and samarium magnets represent the latest generation of magnetic materials. The properties of these magnets are far superior to traditional ones and they are currently the most powerful on the market. Their high coercivity and high remanence allow new designs and the possibility of increasing their field of application where space is limited or where a strong magnetic field is required.
The use of these magnets is conditioned by the temperature: we have a wide range running from 80ºC to 200ºC in neodymium quality and from 200ºC to 350ºC in samarium quality. To prevent corrosion in neodymium magnets, they are coated, depending on requirements. There is no oxidisation problem with samarium magnets. Neodymium and samarium-cobalt magnets can be used at temperatures below 0ºC.
